Your Beautiful Mind 4th Edition

Many scientists agree that 80% of our thought patterns that shape the way we learn and perceive our environment and ourselves, are formed by the time we turn 7!

February 2006
YOUR BEAUTIFUL MIND
Transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary!

In the First Edition we looked at how thoughts and beliefs are formed in the brain demonstrating that many ideas and concepts we take for granted have been taught and can easily be untaught. It was suggested that intelligence was about being open minded to all possibilities and the more flexible we could be with our views, the more capable we would become at creative problem solving and avoiding obstacles in the first place.

In the Second Edition, we look at how our belief systems shape the ways we perceive reality. Looking at the amazing perception capabilities of animals showed that many realities exist outside our ability of sensing them. We too often dismiss possibilities simply because we are not perceiving them at the time. The key message in this edition was to begin seeking to expand our perception range.

The Third Edition discussed the incredible and liberating discovery linking perception with our DNA and how this proves we are responsible for our health and success. We looked closely at how thoughts collapsed frequencies into the sub-atomic particles that are the building blocks of the reality we experience including what genes are expressed in our bodies. This led us to the importance of auditing our beliefs which are responsible for how we perceive.

In the Fourth Edition (Final) we explore how our beliefs and our emotional well being are literally wired to each other. Why re-learning to think is crucial to our evolution and what sabotaging challenges we need to be aware of. Enjoy your final edition of "Your Beaufitul Mind"

The next series will be called "Quantum Evolver for Business" where all components of how to evolve yourself in the business World will be broken down into bite sized steps and the Quantum Evolver Process will be explained for the first time to QE Members. So look out for this new series beginning in February if you would like an edge to further your career or evolve your business.

Our
Wired Beliefs
We have belief systems in place that are wired to our emotions so that we can experience them through our feelings as well as our thoughts. Each belief is connected to an appropriate emotion by peptides so a sensation can be experienced. For example, a belief that sharing is a way to express love could trigger emotions of happiness and excitement while a belief that selfishness creates greed may cause emotions of resentment, anger and disappointment.

One sabotaging belief (virus like belief) that is very common is the association we make between making mistakes and our self-worth. Whenever mistakes are made, feelings of anger, embarrassment and guilt are experienced. The behaviour leads to defensiveness and attempts to conceal the mistakes. This behaviour actually works directly against the laws of evolution that requires adaptation skills to cope with new challenges in a constantly changing environment.

Re-Learning to Think
80% of our thought patterns that shape the way we learn and perceive our environment and ourselves are formed by the time we turn 7!  At this age, the rate of learning new things is formed. The more stimulation we experience in these early years, the more our appetite and ability to learn increases, allowing us to embrace and absorb unlimited concepts and wonderful ways of doings things. In other words, we become better equipped to respond to change and evolve our perception to handle the challenges.

We know this because many people react in different ways. We could be angry with 10 different people and their response can range from responding angrily to being upset, hurt or afraid, to being caring and wanting to understand why we are angry. This in turn affects how we perceive, feel and behave towards them.

Deepak Chopra gives a great analogy in his book Ageless Body, Timeless Mind. Two people are on a roller coaster, sitting together. As the coaster declines sharply, one person grips the bars for dear life and freaks out, screaming and hoping it will end before a mess is made. His friend sitting alongside him has his hands in the air, laughing and enjoying every moment of it. The same ride is subjected to opposing perceptions that fire contrasting sensations in the body!

Our relationship with our beliefs must be redefined if we are to be successful. We are not our beliefs; we have formed them as a way to relate to and experience life. The moment we have an experience we do not want to repeat, then our focus should be on our own beliefs, not making excuses and blaming other people and circumstances.

Confusing our true identity with our beliefs is a major contributor to our insecurities and reluctance to evolve. The clues to our identity from scientific evidence prove we are eternal and unlimited in potential. We are given the faculty to have desire and fulfil it, yet we hold on to the beliefs that create outcomes that keep us away from feeling fulfilled by life. We can never evolve from a place that protects its existing belief systems.

The moment each of us can allow other people to have their own opinions without affecting us emotionally, then we are freeing our mind to exist in a realm of peace and new possibilities rather than conflict of whose belief is the truth. It is amazing when someone shares an opinion and nobody feels the need to emotionally react against it, but rather seek to understand without feeling obliged to agree or disagree with their view. When our views are valued enough to be listened to and understood, our mood and behaviour naturally will be aligned with successful, constructive and productive outcomes.

Music to the Brain
It is claimed that Baroque music (mainly composed from 1700-1750) produces exactly the right frequency and sound to harmonize the functioning of the brain and produce a state of calm relaxed alertness. This is why music is being introduced to accelerated learning techniques and the learning process.

Interestingly enough, music can also strengthen or weaken us. Classical music has been shown to have either a neutral or a strengthening effect but Rock Music has a weakening effect. So get your hands on some Baroque music and play it in the background.

I am currently producing a medtitation CD that is likely to be available by the end of February. It will be designed to help you evolve your belief systems while you relax to amazing music that will make you feel like you are floating!

Focused Meditation
Ceasing to think with the limiting belief programs long enough to focus on a different goal and its aligning new supporting belief is what meditation is great for. Mediation is a relaxing tool, but its purpose is much more important and meaningful. Meditating on a daily basis is about taking the time out to contemplate your self, tapping into your power and using it to evolve so you can be aligned with your goals.

Just as a caterpillar ceases its' existence by retreating into a cocoon and becomes a butterfly, so to is the purpose of our mediation to become something greater by first ceasing to operate from the current beliefs that cause the experiences we no longer wish to repeat. If a caterpillar is capable of becoming a butterfly, what are we capable of when we go into our own cocoon type quiet retreat and dream of experiencing a new dream?

A simple and effective process to help you meditate: -

1.    Use blinders or a dark room.
2.    Choose a very quiet spot away from all distractions.
3.    Sit with your legs crossed, back very straight and head level.
4.    Have your hands on your knees and do not move your body at all for the entire session.
5.    Use appropriate music to set the mood and relax you.
6.    Focus on even breathing and allow 15 minutes to settle your thoughts
7.    Count down from 20 slowly to help you get into the theta brain activity – a relaxed hypnotic state.
Repeat this countdown until you feel you are there.
8.    Focus on empting your mind before you begin focusing.
9.    Have a list of several affirmations you passionately desire to experience that begin with I am or I have.
10.  Have a symbol/picture or visualisation for each goal that you have taken time out to create and focus on.
11.  Repeat each affirmation slowly five times, spoken in your mind and see its respective symbol in your mind
       for a few minutes.
12.  Remember to not let your thoughts deviate from your focus.
13.  Raise your consciousness to the surface when you are finished and slowly remove your blinders.

Conclusion
Life is an amazing adventure filled with surprises. Yet, we need to develop the senses to perceive these surprises. We do indeed have a beautiful mind and to carry it around without feeding it with great ideas and possibilities seems abnormal, yet it is exactly what humanity has been doing for too long.

Imagine a World where school did not end and adults of all ages dedicated one day per week to understanding their mind and how to evolve their thinking. Imagine if television programs were heavily weighted with amazing stories about people who achieved miracles and we learned how they did it with the expectation that we can do it too. The great news is, this type of World already exists and we only need to develop the eyes to see it through our will and focus.
